“Take that, Hurricane!” Is a story for children and about children. And to make it more interesting for children, I have put together a few activities to serve as companion resources for book events and private use. I hope you’ll be able to use them to boost your kids’ creativity, with a little help from Super Tess!

Hurricane Scene

You will need

  • Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Gluesticks or Glue
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Super Tess Printouts (see below)
  • Print out these cutouts. They are easier to cut if they are on thicker paper, like cardstock.
  • Color in the printout you would like to add to your scene
  • Cut out your shapes and glue them onto a piece of construction paper
  • Use construction paper to make grass, trees, houses, animals, etc.
  • Get creative! What would you like to put in your cleanup scene?
